Petunia, the piglet sighed. Her trot lacked spring, and her usual enthusiastic oinks were weary groans. The other piggies noticed and pondered how to best support their sidekick.
Together, the drift got the idea for a relaxing spa day to ease Petunia’s spirit and help her get more bounce in her step! They secretly set up a big surprise behind the barn.
After some coaxing, Petunia followed the rest of the gilts across the field, past the chicken hutch, and around to the back of the barn.
A sweet lace curtain was attached to several wooden posts. Behind a fern haven was a big, round wooden soaking tub filled with steaming water and sky-high bubbles.
Petunia’s floppy ears perked up. “Oh, my, a hidden spa?”
A dream in the making lay just ahead. The purple ribbon around her head bobbed with the swing of her wiggle as she trotted past the lace curtain. Settling into the tub, Petunia closed her eyes, letting the rose-tainted bubbles tickle her cheeks and the warmth soothe her tired muscles.
She grasped the green squishy sponge with one hoof and scrubbed every inch; no muddy patch on her belly or dusty crease around her snout escaped her attention. Special care went to her hooves – scrubbing the dirt away until she saw them sparkle.
Once she was squeaky clean, an entire layer of pink shone from her fur, and a sweet rose scent clung to her like a fragrant cloud.
Weariness turned into relaxation, and a sigh of bliss echoed past the curtain, which caused the nearby chickens to pause their pecking.
Petunia stepped out of the wooden tub feeling revitalized. She wiggled her pampered hooves and snorted triumphantly. The cows looked toward the barn.
What a special treat. A heavenly spa day of swine indulgence! What a thoughtful surprise from her friends; feeling completely loved was the best gift she could imagine.
